Episode 249 Moonlight

One of the truly great films of 2016, Barry Jenkins Moonlight is the story of an African-American boy struggling with his identity in a tough neighborhood of Miami.  The film has the feel of a rich, winding novel, more about color and emotions than external events.  The central character, Chiron is tortured because of his painful home life and burgeoning sexuality.  People come and go in his life over a period of about 15 years but the one person who keeps appearing is Chirons friend, Kevin.  Their dinner conversation at the end of the film is the culmination of a fascinating tale that transcends race, age or class.  Moonlight should be seen by everyone.
