No, its not Eddie Murphys stand-up film from 1987. Its way scarier. French auteur Julia Ducournau presents her first feature, a feminist horror film about a vegetarian girl who develops a peculiar craving after a hazing ritual at college. This movie caused audience members to faint and vomit (not necessarily in that order) at a screening in Sweden. Its one of the most disturbing examples of "body horror" around and really pushes the envelope. Especially for a horror film from a womans perspective. These films are a rarity and when they are of this high quality, they should be supported. But be forewarned, RAW is not for the faint of heart.
