When we wake up the first thing our hungry mind needs is to know what is going on in the world. We no more wait for the newspapers but we refresh our browser. If you are a social media lover or believer or professional, one site that you wouldnt miss is Mashable. From social media to tech to marketing to startups, it has everything. Recently, Pete Cashmore and his team have taken this experience one step further by creating a Mashable Follow button.
What is It?
Mashable Follow is following your content and sharing it. For e.g.: You are a techie and you want to read about techie news and what new startups are thinking. So you would have to search for it regularly but Mashable solves the problem by mere clicking on the Follow button. So next time when you land on Mashable, it will show you stories that you followed. Follow allows you to follow stories, people and to share them with other social networking sites. Thus Mashable has improved from an online news site to a social media curator and in return you also earn badges depending upon your sharing, usage, etc. Isnt that a cool way how things are emerging from data to content tailor made for you?

How to use it
A Twitter or a Facebook account is enough to get you started. Once you are authenticated you are asked to provide some basic information that would be followed by a list of categories provided by Mashable. These categories are nothing but different types of contents. So select the ones that interest you. Once you have selected it next would be connecting with people who are using it like you. So connect if you want or you can build you network later too. Once all these are saved then the next time when you log into Mashable, you would find notifications on My Stories that you might have missed. Click and feed your mind.

Top Stories is a list of burning stories that are creating vibes on Mashable. You can also check what the top stories were in the last week, month and year etc. by navigating the tabs.
