Episode 321 Lady Bird
A film that weaves together an entire community of resonant characters, all tethered together by the star, Christine Lady Bird McPherson (the indomitable Saoirse Ronan). Greta Gerwigs directorial debut is getting a lot of praise, and rightly so. She also wrote the script and it pulsates with real situations to the point that it seems wholly autobiographical. Andrew and Phil both loved it. Another direct hit from A24, who are putting all other film distributors to shame with their consistently stellar releases.
